Opens on document white, a 2000 × 2000 listing square and a soft contact shadow, with Fit to 85% one press away — then the saved file is measured for the ground value, the fill and the long side.
What this mode does
The scene opens the way a marketplace main image is specified: pure white, square, with the product filling most of the frame. Fit to 85% measures the product's bounding box and scales it so its longer side covers 85% of the canvas, then centres it.
The receipt is the part a seller is judged on. It reads the saved file back and reports the ground's median value, the share of the frame the product fills on its longer axis, and the long side in pixels — and, if a shadow is on, it says plainly that the ground under the shadow is not 255, so you decide whether the listing wants it.
Steps
- Open the product shotA product on a plain table or sweep separates well from colour alone. For a busy setting, press Any subject — it is suggested here.
- Fit to 85%One press scales and centres the product. Fine-tune by dragging on the canvas.
- Decide on the shadowA low contact shadow keeps the product from floating. Turn it off if the marketplace wants every ground pixel white.
- Save and read the receiptThen use 'On a studio sweep' and 'As a transparent PNG' for the gallery images and your own designs, without selecting again.
Shadow or no shadow on a main image
A product on pure white with no shadow at all can look cut out and weightless. A faint contact shadow under its base reads as standing on something, and most shoppers never notice it is there.
Some marketplace checks sample the ground and expect 255 everywhere. If yours does, switch the shadow off; the receipt's ground line will then pass exactly, and its shadow line disappears.
What it cannot do
- Transparent and reflective products — glass bottles, chrome — come out solid: one opacity per pixel cannot describe refraction.
- Fit to 85% measures the outline it was given. A stray piece of table kept by the selection makes the box bigger than the product; erase it first.
- The marketplace figures here come from a secondary restatement and are labelled confirm on the official portal; the seller help pages need a login.
Questions about product photo background
What does Amazon or Flipkart mean by a pure white background?
RGB 255, 255, 255 — every channel at its maximum — in the area around the product. A photographed white sweep is usually 230 to 245, which is why it fails. This page writes 255 exactly and the receipt reads the value back.
What is the 85% rule?
Listing guidance commonly asks for the product to fill at least 85% of the image. The receipt measures the product's bounding box on the saved file and reports the share on its longer axis.
What size should a main image be?
At least 1000 pixels on the longest side so shoppers can zoom; this mode opens on 2000 × 2000. Marketplace 1000 is under Platforms if you need the smaller square.
Can I make the white, the lifestyle shot and the cutout at once?
Yes. After the main save, 'On a studio sweep' and 'As a transparent PNG' write two more files from the same outline, with the same placement.
Does it upload my product photos?
No. Everything runs in this tab, including the optional any-subject model, which downloads to your device once if you ask for it.

The image you open is read by this page and by nothing else — there is no server behind this domain that could receive it, the outline is worked out inside your own browser either by arithmetic or by an on-device model, and if you ask for a model it is the model that is downloaded to you rather than your photo being sent to it.
