Short, because the arrangement is short: a page runs in your browser, you use it, and the result is yours.
Using it
Open as many photographs as you like, for anything, commercial work included. Nothing you produce here carries a mark, a licence or a condition from us, because nothing about the output is ours — the subject is your photograph and the ground is a colour.
You are responsible for having the right to alter the photograph you open. A page that cannot see your file is in no position to check that, and it does not try.
What is promised
That the page does what it says on the working surface, and that the file it writes is produced by the operation you watched in the preview at the size the readout states. Nothing more specific than that, because software that runs inside thousands of different browser builds cannot promise a particular result on all of them.
What is not promised
Acceptance. This is the one that matters, so it gets its own paragraph. A photograph produced here will have the ground you chose behind the subject, and that is the extent of it. Whether a passport office, a commission, a bank or a university accepts your application depends on their current instruction, on the crop, on the face size, on the light on your face and on a reviewer’s judgement — none of which this page touches. The rule table here is dated and reviewed, and it is still an orientation rather than an authority. The notice you are applying under is the one that governs.
Nor is a particular quality of result promised on a particular photograph. The limits are stated plainly on the pages that describe them: motion blur is not recoverable, anything transparent is treated as solid, and a subject that matches its background in tone will need painting by hand.
Liability, in one sentence
The page is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, and its maker is not liable for loss arising from its use — including a rejected application, a missed deadline or a file that did not come out as expected. Keep your original photograph; the page never alters it.
